Abstract  This paper proposes a set of automatic detection system for on-site operation in automatic detection of on-site relay protection. The system uses hierarchical structure and modularization idea to realize closed-loop automatic detection through software system. By adopting an open structure, the system can modify the automatic detection template, detection scheme and protocol of relay protection before detection, so that the system can match equipment produced by different manufacturers and can be flexibly switched when performing different detection. During the testing process, the testing results are continuously filled in the standard report, thus automatically generating the standard report. Therefore, the automatic detection system can greatly improve the work efficiency of field personnel, and make the detection report standardized and normalized. The detection system has achieved the expected effect through the actual detection of a substation in Xinjiang.
