Abstract  Through the research on the simulation training system of the DC converter station, a design scheme of the new simulation training system based on PSCAD/EMTDC is proposed. It uses PSCAD custom device which simulates the actual control protection device to construct the DC control protection simulation system. The design of communication interface between custom devices and between custom devices and operator control system is described respectively. The communication protocol and interactive mode between the operator control system and the custom devices are optimized, so that the data area of the message sent by the custom device is consistent with the actual device, which makes the parameters of the operator control system can be directly applied to the simulation training system of DC converter station. Finally, the simulation training system is tested to verify its function and transient characteristics.
