Abstract  This paper introduces the function and principle of DC transmission open line test, and studies the influence of trigger angle and resistance-capacitance parameter on open line voltage. Because the open line test voltage protection configured by the DC system is based on the ideal model calculation, which is quite different from the measured voltage, it is not actually put into operation. In this paper, a strategy to replace the old voltage protection is proposed, the resistance-capacitance value is calculated according to the measured voltage to predict whether the test can succeed, and avoid further reducing the triggering angle to cause breakdown and equipment damage.
