| Fault analysis on abnormal chattering of isolating switch position signal |

Abstract Aiming at the abnormal chattering fault of the isolating switch position signal, this paper analyzes the transmission path and operating principle of the position signal. Based on sequence of events (SOE) records, the fault is identified in the input circuit of closing auxiliary contact. Further potential analysis indicates that the fault results from contact resistance caused by damage to the secondary cable between the isolating switch mechanism box and the terminal box. An equivalent circuit model is built to study the effect of contact resistance on the input circuit, showing that the input voltage declines exponentially as contact resistance increases. Finally, corresponding suggestions are put forward for the diagnosis and handling of signal faults and the improvement of secondary circuit construction technology.
