Abstract：The starting of large capacity motor has large effect on the safety of grid, motor and drive device. Under normal circumstances, if the starting current of full voltage starting causes the bus voltage drop exceeds the allowable value, or motor and machinery does not allow direct starting, we need to take the method to improve the starting condition. Through a specific project example, this paper introduces a method of starting a large capacity motor. This method adopts switch transformer soft starter and hydraulic coupler, and uses the SVG static wattles power compensation as the adjusting busbar voltage level.
