Abstract:In view of the pointer instrument of automatic identification in the smart substation, this paper proposes a new method which is more accurate based on the traditional Angle and distance method, not only ensure the precision of distance method, changed the parameters of distance method to the traditional Angle method which enhances the precision of automatic reading. In this paper, the first step is the image preprocessing, including the use of median filtering method for image noise, filtering; Then using the projection method for skew detection and correction; Meets the requirements of image difference method is used to extract the further information of the pointer, the Angle of the dial pointer relations are used to get the pointer readings, the error analysis and the results are. The experimental results show that the method is very effective for identifying the pointer instrument readings, and has higher precision and practicability.
