Abstract:In order to found the basic theory of generalized DC motor, it is set about study from operational mechanism of motors. The operational mechanism with self-controlled frequency is followed by dc motor, and the operational mechanism with hunting transient exists in synchronous motor. Self-controlled frequency, self-controlled phase of armature current and clamping effect in air-gap field are physical phenomena with same nature appearing in circuit and in air-gap of the dc motor respectively, and the clamping effect which may be regarded as the class mark of DC motor is the common characteristic existing in air-gap field of DC motor and generalized dc motor fed with AC. Polar position sense interposed in synchronous motor is bound to form the clamping effect in air-gap field, it is shown that the synchronous motor has been transformed into the generalized dc motor. The vector controll on the motor body of generalized dc motor with sinusoidal AC is just the same in principle as the torque controll of dc motor.
