Abstract:The existing belt conveyor positioning systems mostly use encoders to locate faults, and when faults occur, the numbers of corresponding encoders are transmitted, so the precise fault location cannot be obtained. Aiming at the problems existing in the current positioning systems, this paper proposes a belt conveyor fault positioning system based on the global positioning system (GPS) technology. This system mainly uses GPS technology to locate the faults of belt conveyor, uploads the fault occurrence time information and fault position to the main station in real time through control area network (CAN) bus and realizes communication with PC by RS 485 bus. It can meet the requirements of rapidity, accuracy and convenience. Through the corresponding experimental verification, the system can meet the needs of the work.
