Abstract The paper describes the design technical rule of suspension insulator sting for substation of electrical industry and Guangdong Electric Power Grid Co., Ltd, through calculating and analyzing the pieces of insulator strings of different voltage level, propositional design technical rule of selecting the suspension insulator stings for 500kV-and-under substation which in Guangdong is advanced.
