Abstract As load unit of smart grid, the development of microgrid is bright in the future power grid, and energy storage technique is one of the core techniques. The paper firstly introduces several kinds of energy storage techniques and studies the adaptability of microgrid and energy storage techniques. Then it discusses some typical structures of the integrated system in microgrid. Demonstration projects of China are summarized and analyzed. Considering the features of microgrid and research status, the paper analyses several key issues and research areas in system such as optimal programming, system control and protection, power quality.
