Abstract This article analyzes a 110kV substation blackout accident because of the two parallel lines on the same tower were struck by lightning, discusses the operation process of the relay protection and the reason of station blackout accident, and according to the actual substation operation characteristics, puts forward the corresponding improvement measures.
