Abstract Converter valve low voltage energization test is the group simulation experiment of the converter transformer, converter valve, control and protection system. Also, it had to be done before the converter station system test. Illustrated by the example of UHV Jinhua converter station, this paper details the parameter selection and the method of the converter valve low voltage energization test, propose a new way to verify the trigger angle, all of this research has important practical application of significance.
