Abstract This paper showed a case of frequent trip of air circuit breaker under normal operation condition, Improved overcurrent protection characteristics test. Auxiliary relay detection loop verify over current backup protection operation characte in the test. The new test method solves the difficult problem of backup protection action characteristic verification and provides the basis for fault diagnosis. New method can be used as reference for fault treatment and electrical test of the same type of air circuit breaker.
