Abstract In recent years, the hydrogen explosions caused by serious hydrogen leakage of generators has occurred frequently, which bring harmfully influence on the society. In this paper, combined with a typical case, in which hydrogen gas leaked from generator temperature measuring terminal board, the reason of fault and its development process are analyzed, and various solutions for hydrogen leakage on generator temperature measuring terminal board are introduced. Some experiences and suggestions are put forward for emergency response and risk control methods in operation when the hydrogen leakage failure occurs.
