Abstract With the widely application of fiber channel in EHV line protection, the fiber channel faults have occurred because of the channel configuration and device failure, and affect the operational reliability of EHV line primary protection. This paper introduced the basic configurations of fiber channel applied in EHV line protections, and the typical channel faults, summarized some methods to analyze and locate the fiber channel faults, via some practical special examples, analyzed the applications of fault location, and put forward the resolve methods.
