The mal-operation blocking system of smart substation is highly different from that of the conventional substation. The understanding of, test methods for, and operational management experience on the mal-operation blocking of smart substation are still insufficient. In this paper, according to the first smart substation with three-layer mal-operation blocking system in Ji’nan, the three-layer diagram of the mal-operation blocking is probed. The mechanism, characteristics and advantages of the bay level mal-operation blocking are particularly analyzed. Finally, a "six-step" test method, and principles of operation and maintenance of mal-operation blocking of smart substation are summarized in order to offer beneficial reference to peers.
