Abstract The zero power test simulation based on Yongfu HVDC project, the items of researching include: the principle of zero power test procedure, the test procedure, the function setting of DC control and protection systems only used for zero power test, and the characteristic of DC electrical parameters in zero power testing. Through simulation experiments, determine and verify the setting of DC control and protection systems, DC control and protection havn’t actioned abnormally in the process of simulation experiment, the process of system deblock and block is smooth and steady, DC electrical parameters and fire pulse angle are normal. The purpose of the simulation experiment is achieved, the results of the study have the guidance and reference for the Yongfu project.
