Abstract:After more than ten years of development, DC transmission technology has been widely used in engineering applications. DC transmission project has been an important part of a strong smart grid. Based on long-term engineering design experience, the design principle of control and protection for DC transmission system is proposed. DPS—5000 compact control and protection host suitable for DC transmission system is developed. Based on the software and hardware characteristics of DPS—5000 platform, the overall scheme of compact control and protection system for DC transmission system is proposed. The real time digital simulator (RTDS) is constructed. The test results verify the correctness of the design scheme of the compact control and protection system, which provides an important reference for the application of DC transmission project.
