Abstract:Xinsong converter station is the starting point of ± 800kV Northwest Yunnan DC project. At the end of November 2019, the station completed the reconstruction and expansion of the ice melting device, so that ±800kV Xinsong converter station became the first UHV converter station in the world with both DC line ice melting device and AC line ice melting device. It is necessary to study and summarize the operation strategy of AC and DC line ice melting devices under the same site layout mode, discuss the corresponding ice melting control and protection logic, analyze the comprehensive impact of ice melting on the harmonic content of the power grid and other aspects, to improve the ice melting efficiency, and provide basis and reference for the follow-up similar projects.
