Abstract This paper through the construction of 550kV circuit breaker phase selection control test platform, the accuracy of the phase selection controller itself, the dispersal of the circuit breaker opening/closing time, and the influence of external variables on the opening/closing time of the circuit breaker are studied respectively, obtained compensation curves for five environmental variables of control voltage, environment temperature, mechanism oil pressure, chamber pressure and intermittent time, by implanting an external variable compensation function in the phase selection controller, the phase selection controller automatically corrects the switching time of the circuit breaker according to the external variable, and achieves the purpose of splitting the circuit breaker in the expected phase, improve the accuracy of phase selection control of high voltage circuit breakers.
