Application of molten salt energy storage in thermal power unit frequency regulation

Abstract:To improve the frequency regulation performance of cogeneration units, molten salt energy storage is introduced in coal-fired units to conduct combined frequency regulation. The system structure and operational characteristics of molten salt energy storage is introduced, and a scheme for integrating molten salt energy storage into the power supply system of thermal power units is proposed. A scheme for coupling molten salt energy storage with automatic generation control (AGC) frequency regulation of thermal power units is designed and verified in a 600 WM thermal power unit frequency regulation project. The research results indicate that molten salt energy storage has a good effect on frequency regulation of thermal power units. The conclusion of this article can provide reference for the engineering application of similar thermal power storage combined frequency regulation.
